Separation in theory
When nonwoven geotextiles are applied between two layers, it restrains the interaction between the materials. Let’s say there is a sand layer and a gravel layer in a workspace, the granules won’t be mixed if the geotextile is properly applied between them, their properties and characteristics will be maintained and the water flow won’t be compromised in any direction, whether order they are.
At its separation function, the geotextile fabrics ensures the pressure redistribution, increasing the support capacity and avoiding contamination at the granular layer base.
