The Fugenband expansion joints are made up from high-density PVC, manufactured to provide great flexibility and durability. They are used at canals, embankments, reservoirs and any other construction projects that require absolute waterproofing. The elastic expansion joint can be anchored to clamps or stirrups at molds or at the structures.
The fungeband joints feature a hollow bulb capable of absorbing the expansion joints movement under tensile, compressive and shear stress. Its flaps allow a fully interaction with the concrete, preventing the water percolation. Nests and flaws close to the flaps should be avoided, reducing the aggregate size near to the concrete profile, if necessary.

The fugenband joints are manufactured in a thermoplastic material and can be welded without any troubles. This feature also allows piece manufacturing in special molds, which can be applied to waterproof angled or crossing joints. To unite the Fugenband joints, is necessary to heat its ends. To weld, a pre-heated metal plate can be used to unite the two extremities. The unite process can be done manually, but to weld is recommended the use of a special equipment.
The welding process can provide the joining even in difficult areas, for expansion joints or control joints. If the weld is done properly, the connection will be waterproof and with excellent mechanical resistance.
