Geotextile in theory
Geotextiles are permeable fabrics that when associated with the soil, acquires drainage, filtering, separating, reinforcement and protection characteristics. It performs the drainage/filtering/separation of the granules into highway and railway processes, the protection of the geomembranes in landfill, lakes, canals and reservoirs projects, the surface protection against weeds and root growth at landscape designs, and the soil reinforcement for retaining structures, dams and landfills placed into soft ground conditions.
The geotextile fabric is, technically, bidimensional and permeable, having mechanical and hydraulical properties that allows many applications in several geotechnical projects. It is composed with high tenacity fibers and additivated to acquire more resistance against UV rays.
